The Project. In their day-to-day work, teams are often faced with situations in which a solution can only be found if all members combine their efforts to a synercetic effect. Use Pick-Up Lines as a vivid illustration of just how important cooperation and moderation are when it comes to working together as a true team.

How It's Done. The group's task is to lift a ball up off the ground, using a shovel-like tube, then transport it to a designated spot (like, for example, a bucket) and drop it off.
All participants take one (or more, depending on group size) of the ropes attached to the device. This automatically brings the group to forming a circle. In a joint effort, they maneuver Pick-Up Lines towards the goal.

There are various versions of this activity you can try with your group. These are some that we've worked with:
Remote Control: The group is split into a team of managers and a work team. The managers are given the task to coordinate the project. However, managers are not allowed to touch the ropes. To master this challenge, they need to develop an effective and transparent communication style as well as a focus on goal attainment.
Activation:
The exercise is done jointly by the entire group. Everyone is involved, and attention is re-focused on team issues.
Self-Organization: Without an explicitly defined team of managers, the group needs to solve the task by organizing itself efficiently. The challenge here is to identify and assign the various roles needed to get the job done within the team.
