10 Jahre Bigger Picture, Kopenhagen

10 Years of Bigger Picture, Copenhagen

On October 4, 2013, the day finally arrived: Bigger Picture celebrated its 10th company anniversary at its own offices in enchanting Copenhagen. Guido Neuland was invited and enjoyed the festivities, the highlight of which was undoubtedly the keynote address by Patrick van der Pijl ( Business Models Inc. ).

Danish Design meets Business

Friday, October 4, 2013: Bigger Picture's offices are perfectly prepared. The guests – customers and business partners – can now arrive.

And they do so in abundance. Around 70 invited guests are personally welcomed by Ole Qvist-Sørensen and Loa Baastrup.

The very personal and friendly atmosphere was noticeable from the beginning and ensured a wonderful start to the celebrations.

Let the show begin

Ole and Loa opened the event and took the guests on a journey through their company's 10-year history. The roadmap they had created beforehand, displayed on a graphic wall at the front of the room, proved helpful in this endeavor.

Ole's father, Lennard Qvist-Sørensen, was also present and visibly proud of their shared achievement. He is responsible for IT and accounting at the company. His 20 years of experience in the IT business and his numerous contacts were a fundamental cornerstone of the company's founding.

Visual Thinking for Business

Next, Bigger Picture had planned something very special for their guests and invited Patrick van der Pijl from neighboring Amsterdam. With his company Business Model Inc., the Dutchman is well-known far beyond his home country. He laid the foundation for his success with the book "Business Model Generation," which he produced together with Alexander Osterwalder from Switzerland.

Despite the explicit warning that his presentation contained over 300 slides, Patrick's talk was a real asset. This was certainly due in no small part to the fact that he also included "analog" sequences and presented some fundamentals of visualization on the whiteboard, directly related to the Business Model Canvas.

The most memorable key message of his presentation was the “new management skills” that Thomas Thorhauge captured in his graphic recording.

The guests were then to discuss their own business models in pairs. It goes without saying that they had learned beforehand how quickly to draw the "canvas".

After two 15-minute rounds, they presented their results, shared experiences, and asked questions, which were answered by Patrick van der Pijl.

Thank you for your day

In summary, only one thing can be said: "It was a truly beautiful day and a successful event."

Inspiring conversations that continued even on the tablecloths...

And, in our view, the technical discussions about the essential materials rounded off the entire event.
