Good idea: Beautiful printing, environmentally friendly.

You're probably familiar with emails that end with a message like, "Please consider the environment before printing this email." (Perhaps you even send similar messages yourself.) But then it might be a long message with important information that also needs to be filed away. So please, do as the sender wishes. Think about the environment before you finally print out that email.
Of course, in such a case we also feel a pang of guilt, as we always do when a note, a letter or a protocol has to be printed so that someone else can read it.
We think it's not good for the environment, but what can we do about it?

Quite a bit.

As early as 2010, the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) came up with the idea of creating its own file format, which would allow a non-printable , so-called WWF file to be saved and sent instead of a printable PDF.

Following the motto "Save as WWF", over 50,000 companies, organizations and private individuals worldwide now work (according to their own information) with this free file type, which can be opened on any computer, but cannot be printed on any computer.

But sometimes, pressure is simply necessary.

And then the English company Ryman – which deals in printers and toners and basically everything you need in the office – had an idea that we are almost a little envious of.

Ryman Eco is a typeface that uses about a third less toner when printing and still looks great. And this typeface is available for free download. (Here, for example.)

Of course, this typeface is also advertising for Ryman. But it reduces printing costs. And it keeps our environment—we'll allow ourselves this pun—a little cleaner. Which is why we wholeheartedly recommend the Ryman Eco typeface…
