The Friends are finally here!
Diversity is a key issue! And to ensure it can be used effectively in visualizations, Neuland® has developed a skin tone palette. We call it Friends.
Visualizations require capturing content in a way that creates the most meaningful image possible. Diversity and inclusion play an increasingly important role in a globalized society. Neuland® celebrates diversity and has therefore developed the "Friends" color palette to represent the variety of human beings. The set consists of five different skin tones (806, 807, 808, 809, and 810).
Available as individual markers or as a set.
At the EuViz conference 2018, the Friends made many new friends.
The Friends celebrated their premiere in our EuViz shop, and our visitors let their creativity run wild. We also met Caroline Chapple from Chapple Cartoons there, who was sketching out a first color overview in her notebook.
Some participants became active in our Playground, were allowed to let loose with the Friends as they pleased, and also chat with others about it.
Suddenly, the Friends disappeared from the scene.
Some conference attendees had taken the opportunity to stock up on markers at EuViz in time, while others were hoping to order them from home. This was precisely where the problem lay.
The Friends were simply not there, not available in our shop. Customers sadly kept typing "Friends" into the shop's search field, but the Friends remained missing.
What happened? Where did the Friends go?
We could hardly believe it ourselves and dispatched a task force to track down the Friends. A task force equipped with all the necessary skills and the most modern technical resources.
We crept up quietly and could hardly believe what we saw there after observing for some time:
After all the commotion, the Friends had fled to the beach!
They had made themselves comfortable under a parasol made of Leaf presentation cards and a cocktail straw, happily basking in the sun. Luckily, they had their sunglasses with them.
Overconfident, they even ventured into the water. We could hardly believe what we saw. For a moment, Verena considered abandoning her good cover to put an end to the colorful commotion and save the markers from the waves.
But we had to realize that they were true friends and looked out for each other, so none of the Markers were ever really in danger.
While they were drying on the jetty, we confronted them. They apologized for not having notified us, but on the other hand, they negotiated for themselves and other Friends that they wanted to take a short break so they could be back in the shop refreshed in October.
Here they are at last! Welcome, dear Friends.
