International Sketchnote Camp 2017, Hamburg
Teilen
Actually, you don't need a special reason to travel to Hamburg. Nevertheless, there was one – and a really good one at that: the first International Sketchnote Camp. It attracted numerous visitors from all over Europe and even some "celebrities" from overseas. So there was no question that we gladly offered our support when the organizing team of the event approached us this summer.
Visual dialogue in the Dialogue House
We thought the venue for the Barcamp was well chosen – the Dialoghaus in Hamburg's Speicherstadt.

Nearly 160 participants from all over the world gathered there on Saturday for the Barcamp. You could practically feel that the seeds for something new were being planted.

A very personal keynote from Mike Rohde
For many of the participants, he was probably something like the "star guest" of the event: the American Mike Rohde, author of the Sketchnote Handbook and the Sketchnote Workbook.

With his keynote address, he perfectly underscored the special, familial spirit of the event. It wasn't a "botched" speech – it was heartfelt and specifically tailored for the occasion. And that was clearly evident.
Sketch me if you can…

There was plenty to see and try out at the Neuland booth again this year. Visitors were treated to inspiration and new products, as well as stimulating conversations and interesting ideas – which might even lead to new products. Stay curious!

Two sketchnoting book authors at once at the Neuland taster booth: Tanja Wehr ("The Sketchnote Starter Guide") and Mike Rohde ("The Sketchnote Handbook" and "The Sketchnote Workbook").

We've known Nadine Roßa ("Sketchnotes Practice Book") since EuViz 2014 in Berlin. Here, Guido Neuland demonstrates the correct way to refill Neuland markers using a transparent Neuland No. One®. It quickly becomes clear what happens inside the marker during refilling.

Of course, we couldn't bring all our products to Hamburg. But that's what the large Neuland online shop is for. Here, Verena Hanke-Neuland takes Mike Rohde on a little tour through the extensive Neuland product range, and Mike shows how he and his team use Neuland whiteboard markers to work agilely on processes "back at home."
The Raffle …
A raffle is always an integral part of international conferences – at least those we attend. This was also the case in Hamburg, and the bikablo® Tool-Kit was one of the main prizes of the event.

The best is yet to come.
It was great in Hamburg!
Great place, nice people, and really good conversations. Like the one with Mike Rohde, who has been a true Neuland fan for quite some time.
We are all the more pleased that we were able to win Mike as our new brand ambassador.

And of course, about his entry in our sketchbook – with the ArtMarker version of the Outliner and a SketchOne from Neuland.

Thank you, Mike Rohde! We look forward to an exciting collaboration and an inspiring exchange!
