Marker Headstand – Neuland Filling Philosophy
Teilen
Refilling Neuland markers can be so easy… if you do it right. This includes the correct position before, during, and after refilling – the marker upside down!
We call this our Refill Philosophy . But what do you actually need to know about refilling, and why do we do it this way and not another? With our blog series on the topic, you'll become a true refilling pro!
Proper storage
"Wait, I thought this was about refilling?" Right, but you don't want to overfill your markers and waste valuable ink . The amounts we give in our refilling instructions refer to markers that are completely empty. So, before refilling, make sure they're actually empty.
You can read how to test this in the second part of this blog series. However, proper storage is essential for this test. All markers for writing on paper should absolutely be stored with the tip pointing downwards. There's a good reason for this: thanks to gravity, the ink flows faster into the tip when it's pointing downwards. This way, your markers are always ready to use and the tip lasts longer.
And yes, that's also why the membrane at the end of the marker shows the ink color. If you store or transport your Neuland markers in the practical Novario® boxes , you'll only see the color if they're standing right-side up. 😉
By the way: There are also Neuland markers that are stored horizontally, or even with the point facing upwards. You can find an overview in our Markerpedia .
For refilling
So now you've confirmed that your markers are truly empty. As we learned in the first part , the cap must be removed during refilling. Therefore, we place the Neuland marker to be refilled upside down into our refill station , fill it with ink, and then replace the cap .
And what comes next?
If you've made it this far, you should now have the refilling process down pat. Nevertheless, there are still a few tips and tricks we definitely don't want to keep from you. Therefore, the next post will be about helpful gadgets that will make refilling easier.
