Markerinventur leicht gemacht

Marker inventory made easy

Have you ever done a marker inventory? We know you probably have far fewer markers lying around than we do at Neuland Playground® or in our warehouse. Even so, an inventory can be quite useful. And it's not much work, we promise!

Markers empty? Be sure to test them before the (online) workshop!

The problem

Are you about to give an online training session using analog tools (by the way: you can find out how to do that here )? Or imagine you're finally allowed to give an in-person training session again after a long time, and then you realize just before it that your outliner is empty.

"Oh yes, that's right! Before my last workshop, I refilled the outliner and ran out of refill ink in the process. I actually wanted to order some more."

And it's always the markers that hurt us the most, isn't it? But let's be honest: otherwise, we wouldn't learn from it. 😉 Neuland Toolmaster® Liane Hoder recently had a similar experience, so she quickly created a guide to protect herself from such embarrassing situations in the future.

Anyone working with so many colors can easily lose track. But with Liane, you can see she has a system.

The solution

With this handy overview, you can either conduct a small marker inventory at regular intervals (e.g., twice a year), or you can simply note down any missing markers and refill inks whenever you notice something is missing. Most people collect their empty markers in a bag before refilling them anyway. So, every time you refill and run out of ink, you can jot it down on your overview.

Of course, you can also do this if you notice a marker is missing after an event. Or if you need another marker of that particular color. This isn't just practical if you always want to be perfectly prepared; you'll also never forget markers when placing orders again. And the environment will thank you too if you don't order each marker individually. 🙂

This is what it looks like when Liane takes inventory of markers.

Small 1x1 marker

You don't know all our marker types and their variations? No problem, we've got you covered! This "cheat sheet" summarizes everything you need to know about each marker. How much of which ink goes into which marker? Which nib writes how on which surface? And what about storage? Lots of questions, here are the answers!

You can also download this handy table directly here .

What are you waiting for?

Download the marker inventory overview directly, or print it out so you always have it handy. Liane has already listed all Neuland markers and colors, so you really don't forget anything.

Still unsure about refilling? In our Markerpedia you'll find instructions for every marker, because since last year our entire marker range has been refillable!
