Neuland Marker Nachfüll-Meditation

Refill Meditation – Neuland of Filling Sophistication

Show your markers you love them and refill them very gently and with great care. The refill meditation might take two seconds longer, but those two seconds are worth it…

We call this our refill philosophy . But what do you actually need to know about refilling, and why do we do it this way and not another? With our blog series on the topic, you'll become a true refilling pro!

The strength is to be found in serenity

Calm down, we're not in a hurry! If you're always refilling your markers in a rush, you might want to put this saying somewhere near your refill station . Because when you're rushing, mistakes can easily creep in.

Therefore, we approach this process like a little meditation. And that's not so far-fetched, because refilling is actually a little break from everyday life. But please make sure beforehand that your marker is really empty. To check, slowly draw a line on the paper. If the line is solid, you shouldn't refill it yet; if the line becomes thinner, you can begin.

New territory of filling philosophy: Marker test
Here's how to test if your markers are really empty.

How do I proceed?

First of all, your marker will thank you if you don't ram the needle into the diaphragm like a blacksmith. After all, we want to use our markers for a lifetime. Once you've carefully inserted the needle, gently squeeze the refill bulb . Why? The harder and faster you squeeze, the greater the chance of ink leaking.

And what happens then?

You might not notice this tiny flaw at first because the casing of most markers isn't transparent. If you're unlucky, however, the refill ink will run down the inside wall and eventually leak out next to the fiber tip.

So you don't have to experience this yourself, Neuland Ambassador® Renatta Algalarrondo shows you what it looks like in this video using an empty marker . 😉

Is that all?

Of course not! In this blog series, we're covering absolutely everything there is to know about our refill system. The last post discussed the role of the cap in refilling, and next we'll talk about its correct positioning.
