Novario® Eco
Teilen
You're already familiar with our proven Novario® system . But what's so special about the corresponding Eco line ?
There's always room for greener...
Paper is better than plastic, we can all agree on that. But does it really have to mean cutting down so many trees for it? Spoiler alert: NO!
That’s why four of our Novario® boxes are now also available as Eco versions made from recycled material. These include the Markerbox M for the Neuland No.One® , the Markerbox L for the Neuland BigOne® , the practical utensil box , and our card box .
problem
These days, recycling paper is perfectly normal, and many people are now using it more sparingly. That sounds great, but what would such a development be without new challenges? It would be too good to be true if you could simply take a sheet of paper and make a new one. It's not that simple. The old fibers shorten after six to seven recycling cycles, so fresh fibers are constantly needed for the process.
Solution
The most difficult part of papermaking is separating the wood fibers from the lignin (the main component of wood), and this process requires a lot of chemicals, energy, and water. The taller a plant grows, the more lignin it contains. So it makes sense to use something that's as short as possible and grows almost everywhere. Hmm… grass, maybe? Simple, but ingenious!
And that's an understatement: grass can be recycled just like wood, is suitable for food contact, and requires no chemical additives. Furthermore, the grass-based pulp in our Novario® Eco line is 1.5 times more energy-efficient, produces only 77% of the emissions, requires 65% less water, and has five times the acidification potential of recycled paper. Wow, that would definitely knock Marty McFly's hoverboard out from under him.
…and more beautiful too!
After all that concentrated knowledge, here's something beautiful for the eyes. These extra-green storage boxes can also be wonderfully customized. So, if you prefer personalized Novario® boxes, why not grab some Neuland water-based markers and give them your own personal style?
