Quick change: Replacing the writing tips on Neuland markers
Teilen
Replacing the writing tip on our markers is very easy. The following steps show you what you should prepare and how to perform the change.

Preparation is everything – these are the things you should have on hand.
To ensure a smooth exchange, you will need:
(A) the marker whose tip is to be replaced
(B) the new writing tip – always replace tips of the same type (wedge, round, or brush tip), otherwise problems may occur.
(C) A tool for pulling out the tip. Since scissors are usually available, we will demonstrate the process here using these tools. Pliers or strong tweezers will also work.
(D) Refill ink in the matching color (same color code on ink bottle and marker) and in the same system (water- or alcohol-based)

Pull out the tip
Hold the scissors so you can apply enough force to both blades to securely grip the worn tip. Then pull the tip away from the marker and out of its guide. You should definitely use a tool for this. Trying to do it with a tissue and your fingers will only result in dirty fingers. Dispose of the tip immediately in the trash or household waste.

Install new leadership
This is probably the part that gives most people a headache at first. Especially with the wedge tips, because these have to be aligned in a specific position relative to the grip recesses. But there's a rule of thumb that makes it quite simple. Hold the marker with your thumb and forefinger in your right hand. Then, slide the new writing tip into the marker's guide with the thin side facing down, so that the raised edge (1) of the tip is in the same position as your thumb (2). So, the rule of thumb is: raised edge of the tip = thumb position.
Since the writing tip is still new and not yet coated with ink, you can hold it in your hands while inserting it.
The tip must be pushed in until it touches the marker. That's basically it for the replacement – unless you want to start writing again right away. In that case, you should read the next instruction.

Make the writing tip ready for use again immediately
Perhaps you did this with your fountain pens back in school when you changed the cartridge. Normally, it takes a little while for the nib to draw ink from the fiber tip again. You can bridge this gap by carefully applying a few drops of ink to the nib. As soon as the nib is completely saturated with ink – stop, because your marker is now ready to use again. Screw the ink bottle back on and you're good to go.
