Unterstützung eines Markenbildungs-Workshops durch Visualisierung

Supporting a brand building workshop through visualization

by Karen Leth, Copenhagen, Denmark

The Danish National Gallery is undergoing a process of continuous brand strengthening. Part of this process is motivating all employees to work in line with the brand and, in effect, to "pull together". On Wednesday, April 11, 2012, all employees were invited to a three-hour workshop. The workshop focused on a fundamental discussion about the National Gallery as a brand and the key question of in which direction the museum should develop.

The museum director Karsten Orth and the British trainer and consultant Jane Wentworth from London also participated in the workshop.
Her experience with all the major museums in the United Kingdom and Scotland was the deciding factor in the decision that Jane Wentworth would lead the participants through the workshop.

"My role that day was to capture the workshop's output in the form of a graphic recording. With three meters of paper for each workshop (there were two – one in the morning and one in the afternoon), the workshop rooms were prepared before the participants arrived. Of course, my well-stocked case with NEULAND markers, chalks, etc., was with me."

Thus, in the beautiful and extremely inspiring atmosphere of the great Danish Museum, in collaboration with dedicated, intelligent and passionate people who deal with art on a daily basis, the pictures of the day were created.

"At the end of each session, we discussed the visualization to ensure that all the important points were captured and correctly interpreted."
Both pictures now adorn the walls of the staff area, so that the result of all discussions about values, employee input, direction and to-dos is in daily view.

The visual support provided during the workshop clearly illustrated the results and created a comprehensive overview. I invite you to visit my blog to learn more about this topic: http://www.karenleth.dk/
