…And how did you find the Bullet Journaling seminar with Heidrun and Nicole?
Phew, if only one could put that into words so easily, without telling a whole story. Well, for your sake, I'll give it a try. 🙂

Imagine being six years old again, and on the evening before December 6th, you're standing at the window by the front door, trying not to lose sight of your boot. That's pretty much how we felt before Nicole Hackenberg and Heidrun Künzel finally arrived in Eichenzell. That might sound a bit exaggerated to some, but we were really excited, and – spoiler alert – our already high expectations were still far exceeded.
It will probably remain a mystery how the two of them managed it, but our group felt so comfortable from the very beginning, as if we'd all known each other for 20 years. Whether single mother of three, new grandmother, young teacher, or organized workaholic, everyone was enthusiastic about bullet journaling, and rightly so. This enthusiasm was naturally ignited even further when we received the new Bullet Journal Kit from Neuland as a gift. So we could get started right away.
So what have we learned? Everything! From the index and structure to different calendar formats, trackers, collections, and various types of journal entries. We've got it all figured out. We've learned how to develop new routines for better planning, overcome personal hurdles, and ultimately make everything clearer and more visually appealing with the help of symbols and colors. And believe me, it feels incredibly liberating once you understand the principle and can easily organize everything with your own personalized bullet journal. The emphasis here is definitely on "easily," because nobody wants to invest extra time tinkering with their journal. Quite the opposite: we want to save time.
Admittedly, since the workshop I've been so proud of my new creation that I definitely take a little time on the weekend to spruce it up. But I also rave about my bullet journal so often to my friends that they usually want to see it, and of course, it has to look its best. 😉
As you can see, the Neuland BulletProof has a dotted grid. This makes it much easier, especially for beginners, to keep a neat journal with straight lines. Plus, the dots are barely noticeable yet incredibly helpful for writing and drawing. Speaking of drawing… I'm not exactly a pro at it myself. That's why I was so excited when we received the BulletProof stickers on the second day. People walking past the seminar pavilion at that moment probably thought the Backstreet Boys were there. They're also in the Bullet Journal Kit, by the way. The stickers, that is.
We also received a Neuland FineOne® Art pen in the kit, which initially put me off a bit, but turned out to be surprisingly versatile. It's incredibly easy to shade or color containers and figures with it. And just like that – a few stickers and brushstrokes later – the whole thing looks so much more vibrant. Heidrun and Nicole showed us all of this in such a wonderfully kind way. And now we've not only gained a loyal companion for everyday life, but also met some fantastic like-minded people with whom we can exchange ideas about our journals.
