Isn't black just black? A wedge tip compared to itself.

…or can it get even blacker?
In this video you will learn everything you need to know about chisel-tip markers, the marker superstars.
Marker superstars? Isn't that a bit of an exaggeration?
Imagine you were only allowed to own one marker. Oh dear, a terrible thought, I know! So, just assuming, a black marker with a chisel tip would definitely be my first choice. Thinking practically.
The chisel tip is specially designed to make your writing on the flipchart exceptionally legible. With the chisel tip, you have the perfect line width, ensuring your message is visible even at the back of the room. The line width varies depending on whether the marker is held horizontally or vertically. This results in a neat and easily readable script. Pretty compelling, right?
You can also draw with the chisel tip. Okay, the drawings might sometimes look a bit clumsy and thick, but it works.
Okay, now let's quickly move away from this absurd idea of only wanting to own one marker and go a step further.
The Outliner is the indestructible sibling of the classic black wedge tip.
Why does the 'normal' black marker smudge with the ink from the art marker?
The ink in the outliner is permanent and contains black pigments. A regular black marker contains water-based ink with dye.
Ha! The outliner has a different composition, so a water-based ink, like the yellow art marker in the video, won't dissolve the outliner. Cool, right?
In simple terms, when it comes to your work on the flipchart: "Like solves like".
It's just like going to a pub with friends and then bumping into another friendly group. One beer leads to another, and before you know it, the groups are all mixed up. You don't even remember who you came to the pub with. No, not just because of the increasing amount of beer, but because you simply get along so well. You're cut from the same cloth, you could say. Here, the two groups have blended into one.
But there's someone sitting at the bar who's somehow different, who doesn't understand any of this. He doesn't mingle, he simply stays on the outside, he doesn't want anything to do with you. That's okay, he's not bad.
He's just an out-of-touch thing... Anyway, you know what I mean?
But here in the Marker world, everything is quite peaceful. The Outliner does set boundaries, but he doesn't come alone, because he has his very own family who help him set those boundaries.
