Information on taxes, duties and fees for international shipments
The VAT rates charged for your order depend on the product and vary in each recipient country. Depending on the country to which we ship your ordered products, customs duties and fees may also apply. Currently, the regulations are as follows:
For deliveries to countries of the European Union (EU):
Private customers:
For deliveries within the EU, the VAT rates of the recipient country have been calculated since July 1, 2021.
Business customers:
No sales tax (VAT) will be charged for deliveries to a company located in an EU member state if we have the VAT identification number (VAT ID number) valid for the respective EU country.
Note: If we do not have a VAT ID number, the VAT rates of the recipient country will be calculated.
The following applies to deliveries to so-called third countries (all countries outside the EU):
No sales tax (VAT) is charged for deliveries to a third country.
Customs clearance: When importing a shipment into a third country, customs clearance is handled by the shipping provider or customs broker. Any applicable costs, such as import VAT and customs duties, will be invoiced to you before delivery, and your goods will be delivered after payment.
The cost varies from country to country due to different import regulations and customs guidelines, so unfortunately we cannot provide exact figures.
Some countries require additional import documents such as certificates of origin and import licenses. We can usually issue the standard documents. In all other cases, our experienced team will be happy to assist you with the application and processing.
Using the Brussels tariff number (customs tariff code), which you can find under the barcode in the online shop, you can check the applicable customs duties at your local customs office.
For our US customers: Please note that products containing metal (such as steel or aluminum) are currently subject to a higher customs duty for import into the USA.
You can find out exactly what regulations apply to importing goods into your country by contacting your local customs office.
Important shipping notice for the USA and Canada: Depending on your exact delivery address, UPS may impose an Extended Area Surcharge (EAS) for remote or sparsely populated delivery locations. If this surcharge applies, we will contact you immediately via email before processing your payment or shipment with the recalculated shipping costs for your approval.
