Getting to the point is easy. But four points at once?

We've redesigned our VizDots (formerly known as Visu-Points). Just because we thought it was time for a makeover. We like the result. Four shapes that will allow you to quickly and clearly mark any idea or suggestion on your pinboard – And that's meant in a friendly way. In addition to the faces, the color coding quickly clarifies what each dot means: like a traffic light, red means stop, yellow means "well, I don't know..." and green means go. And if you're interested in the concept: there's a VizDot for that too, which shines particularly brightly.

In short, we like the new VizDots. However, the journey to get here was long. We designed and discarded a whole series of sketches before we finally arrived at the desired result. Here's a look at everything you were spared.

Initially, we thought we could express the respective mood using different weather conditions. So, markers out and off we went!

But who says rain is unpleasant? Well, that wasn't all. Next, we tried to see if hands could talk:

But no. While the affirmative gesture worked quite well, the grumpy hand gesture became rather expressionless. And how were we supposed to show doubt or even love? A nice idea, then, but unusable.

So we thought: maybe it'll work with faces. Or punctuation. Or both...

It seemed to us that there was something to it.

Because all ideas deserved a second chance, we added color to all of them. And we kept swapping those colors around.
