It's finally here, the Neuland ChalkOne® - now get it on the disc!

Perhaps you were at EuViz® in 2018 and already secured your first Neuland ChalkOne® in the EuViz edition? Lucky you! For everyone else, it was: "Please be patient! It will be a while before they're available in the online shop!"
Sandra Dirks is using her living room windows today for a first test.
The time has finally come!
Patience isn't something everyone possesses. No one knows how much of it is distributed among the marker addicts of this world. After all, answers to these important questions need to be found:
"So what will the Neuland ChalkOne® ultimately be like? What types of tips will be available? What do the ChalkOnes look like? How are they stored?…"
It's crazy, but these are all important questions that need to be answered. We'll answer them for you in this blog post.
Two real equipment junkies happened to meet yesterday to push the ChalkOne to its limits: Tanja Wehr and Sandra Dirks.
SD : “Tanja, I have a surprise for you after lunch. We have to get moving, but we're going to do something really nice!”
TW : "What? Sport?"
SD : "Let's call it Marker Sport! Right here by my large window front in the living room!"
Sandra dances happily back and forth in the living room with a small box full of markers. The perfect exercise to ward off a serious food coma.
Markerspocht
Exercise 1: Shake, shake, shake! And again: shake, shake, shake!
Exercise 2: Place the tip on a sheet of paper: And pump, pump, pump. Careful! ...and three...and two...and one. Wait, wait, the color appears. Pump again, stop, stop, stop.

Exercise 3: Repeat exercise 2 until the markers in all colors and sizes are ready for use.
And white and red and neon yellow. Pump, pump.
Shake the gold and silver, shake, clack, clack, clack. And now everyone on three!
And pink and green and a beautiful orange.

And again pump, pump, rocking step. Uh…and pump, pump, wait, wait, the paint runs.
Place the marker on the disc and let the marker fun begin!
This is what it looks like.

Tanja spontaneously conjures up a beautiful lettering on the patio door using the wonderful 2-8 mm chisel tip.

Sandra isn't gentle and really goes at it with the nice wide 15 mm chisel tip. Bam! A real burst of color. This is fun!
It feels a bit strange switching from a flipchart to a windowpane. You have to get used to the slippery whiteboard feeling first.

Now that's a great application of color! Rich green! The orange is running because clearly too much paint was pumped into the tip. A clear case of user error!
Practical tip: You can start with just a little paint on the tip; it shouldn't be too saturated, otherwise the design will run. But: It creates a nice Halloween effect.
Oh dear, the neighbors are puzzled. Ms. Dirks must be crazy. Maybe she even calls that work?

I really like the red marker. It's a lovely cherry red. There's a hint of pink in it. Very chic.
Now for the wipe test:

It can be easily removed with a simple kitchen towel. It's even faster and better with a microfiber cleaning cloth.
If you have applied the paint particularly thickly and remove it with a dry cloth, it will crumble onto the floor.
Sure, it's chalk. You can easily wipe it away, sweep it up, or simply vacuum it up.

It works without leaving any residue. It only takes one swipe with a damp cloth, so the paint doesn't crumble on the floor.
Conclusion: This is fun, and in the future I'll simply letter some of my agendas onto the window.
Practical tip: For professional use of ChalkOne in training, use the microfiber cleaning cloth so you can quickly remove your agenda after the event… also practical for corrections.
So what will the ChalkOne be like in the end? What kind of spikes will there be?
The ChalkOne comes in two sizes. The small size has a 2-8 mm wedge tip. The large marker has a 5-15 mm wedge tip.
Psst! If you ask me, I'm very glad that the wedge tip is available for both sizes.
That's just my personal opinion, because I find the wedge tip more versatile. You can draw with it, but also write legibly.
Oh, shhh! Something else just occurred to me:
Incidentally, the ChalkOne tablets don't just work on windows, but also... ta-daaa... as the name suggests: on chalkboards.
Ideally, use it on the Neuland Werkwand® , as the Neuland ChalkOne® was perfectly tailored to it during its development phase.
What do ChalkOne look like? How are they stored?
The large ChalkOne tablets look a bit like the AcrylicOne tablets.

ChalkOne markers are stored standing upright (with the tip pointing upwards) or lying down, as is also recommended for AcrylicOne markers . Water-based markers, such as the Neuland BigOne® , are stored with the tip pointing downwards.

Hopefully, you now have all the important answers to your questions. Why not take a look in the shop ? You'll find a few more ideas for using it there.
Thanks @Tanja Wehr ( Sketchnotelovers ) for participating in the marker sport.

How about leaving yourself and your loved ones a nice message on the mirror with your ChalkOne?
This way the day can only be a success.
