Meet Neuland Toolmaster® Ivo Haase
Teilen
Do you know those people who instantly captivate you? Those people you can tell from the very first moment are genuinely good? Ivo Haase is one of those people, and we are incredibly happy to have him in our close circle of Neuland Toolmaster®.
What's fascinating is that when you learn about Ivo's career path and his volunteer work, you eventually reach a point where you wonder when he found the time to do it all. After earning his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master's degree in Energy Management, he co-founded PeHa GmbH with his father 18 years ago. He has also been a trainer for over 10 years, specializing in management, leadership, communication, project management, and work methodology. On top of all that, he's an active member of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), the Education Committee of the German Association of Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), the Board of Trustees of the "Skilled Workers Foundation for Brandenburg," Junior Chamber International, Lions Clubs International, and, of course, the Junior Chamber International, where he was responsible for training in 2017.

We haven't even touched on his volunteer work yet… PeHa GmbH places particular emphasis on employing people who face challenges in the professional world, such as people with disabilities, refugees, or the older generation. That's why Ivo Haase was also a regional ambassador for the "Companies Integrating Refugees" network. Furthermore, 11 years ago he launched the "Back to School – Equal Opportunities for All" initiative. This provides socially disadvantaged children with basic school supplies, such as backpacks and writing materials, when they start school. But he doesn't just have a heart for children; he also has a soft spot for animals, and therefore publishes a charity calendar every year to raise funds. Don't get us wrong, this is far from everything there is to say about Ivo Haase, but it should suffice for the interview introduction. 😉

Dear Ivo, thank you so much for being here! At the beginning, we always like to ask our Toolmasters for the three hashtags that best describe them. Which ones come to mind spontaneously?

#ALackOfTimeIsALackOfPriorities

That answers the question of how you manage to juggle so much – respect! You started traveling early and work extensively with international organizations, political institutions, and universities. You get around a lot, don't you?
That's right, I studied in London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Delhi, Edmonton, and Calgary, among other places. I obtained my current coaching and facilitation qualifications in Vienna, Tallinn (Estonia), Cape Town, Amsterdam, and, of course, Germany. As a trainer and lecturer, I have been active in recent years—in addition to numerous training sessions in Germany—in Hungary, Iran, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Morocco, Malta, Serbia, Ukraine, Poland, Croatia, Scotland, Latvia, Uganda, South Africa, Tanzania, Kosovo, China, Egypt, Switzerland, Syria, Mongolia, and Lebanon.

Phew, take a deep breath, Ivo. 😉 Many people interested in your work as a trainer will probably also wonder what qualifications you have, or what areas you specialize in.
My most recent qualifications are as follows:
- “LEGO® Serious Play® Online Facilitator”; 2020
- “Certified Trainer for persolog® Personality Factor Model”; 2020
- “Certified Blended Learning Trainer”, 2020
- “Certified Online Trainer”, 2020
If you haven't run out of steam yet and would like to learn more about Ivo's qualifications, please scroll all the way down. 🙂

Impressive! Are there any videos that give a glimpse into your work as a coach?
Some training projects that I implement or have implemented on a voluntary basis – partly together with the team of the student company at our local high school – can be found on YouTube:
I'm sure you're tired of hearing the puns on your name, but I think "Duracell-Haase" describes you quite well. Is there a particular experience in your life that has especially shaped you?
My time in the school choir at our high school and our choir director had a profound impact on me. For a "normal" school choir (not a music-focused one), we were very good and often held our own against the best mixed youth choirs in Germany. During my time there (three years), we toured to Japan, Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, the Czech Republic, and Hungary, among other places. We had choir rehearsals at least twice a week in the evenings, in addition to school (each rehearsal lasting two to three hours). There were also concerts and rehearsal weekends. I owe our choir director a great deal, including discipline, a results-oriented approach, the joy of achieving goals and accomplishments together, ambition, pride, and a sense of dignity.

Model: Thinking with Hands
Here's a story:
Our choir director was in a serious car accident, which he barely survived. He spent a long time in the hospital, then in rehab, and had to walk on two crutches for many weeks (in great pain). Then came an important choir competition that he and we didn't want to cancel. Of course, everyone knew that our preparation wasn't ideal. On the day of the competition, we were on stage facing the audience. The door to the hall was at the far end, meaning it was a long way to the front. There were hundreds of people in the hall, plus the judges. It was completely silent, and then our choir director came in. Only we could see him. He put his two crutches in the corner and, his face contorted in pain, walked all the way to the front. Then he carried on with the concert and afterwards, drenched in sweat, almost collapsed. I asked him later why he had left the crutches by the door, and he replied that he had too much respect for his singers to risk them receiving "pity" points from the judges. I often think about that when things don't go the way I want them to or when I feel like I'm being wronged.

That's a truly moving story. On a related note: What goes through your heart when you hear the word "meaningful" ?
“Everyone knows that a good example has good consequences. Be that good example, and it won’t be long before others follow. More and more people will become kinder and more generous, until finally no one looks down on the poor. How wonderful it is that no one needs to wait a minute to begin slowly changing the world! How wonderful that everyone, great or small, can directly contribute to bringing and giving justice! Open your eyes, be just first! Give what you have to give! And there is always something to give, even if it is only kindness! No one has ever become poor by giving.” (Anne Frank, March 26, 1944)

Great quote! Now we have one last question: You are locked alone in the Neuland Playground® at night. What would you experience there, and what would the Playground be like the next day?
- I should, should, and could finally take the time to calmly draw beautiful flip charts and prepare them for the next training sessions.
- All markers would be sorted and tested for functionality.
- There were no more almonds and peanuts at the snack bar.
Fantastic! 😀 Maybe we should actually leave you there after the next workshop; that would save us a lot of work. 😉 We'd love to chat some more, but unfortunately, we've already reached the end of the interview. Thanks again so much for your time, dear Ivo; it was a lot of fun!
So, now you're probably just as enthusiastic about Ivo Haase as we are. If you'd like to get to know him and experience him live, you can contact him directly in a casual way. Just send him a message on Facebook , Instagram , or LinkedIn !
