Nachhaltigkeit ist ein Weg, der niemals endet. Er beginnt mit kleinen Schritten. Step by step.

Sustainability is a journey that never ends. It begins with small steps. Step by step.

Neuland on site at Greenmeetings & Events from 18th to 19th February 2019 in the Congress Hall Leipzig
Sustainable action is a global responsibility, and each of us should see ourselves as an active participant in taking on this responsibility! It starts with many small steps that help minimize our ecological footprint at events. Arriving at the venue by public transport, using resources sparingly for light, heating and water, and using seasonal and regional food are just a few examples of sustainable conferences.

The "Green Meetings & Events" congress (#GME2019), organized by the GCB and EVVC, took place this year at the Congress Hall in Leipzig. For the fifth time, executives from the events industry met to explore this important topic in workshops covering subjects such as sustainable event management and efficient energy management. Numerous best-practice examples and an excursion provided participants with further inspiration for implementation.

We at Neuland also place great importance on the environmental sustainability of our products and concepts, so it was a natural step for us to get involved as a sponsor and exhibitor. Therefore, all our popular Neuland No.One® markers are refillable and available in many versions using water-based, solvent-free ink.

That was reason enough to demonstrate to the interested audience how our markers can be refilled, using an empty marker as an example. Jens Heil from Neuländer had a green thumb and his hands full. 🙂 And of course, our markers were also used in the workshops – the task was presented on the tablet, and then carried out using the marker.

Tip: In our Markerpedia you'll find all the information you need about refilling, replacing nibs and much more…

It wasn't just the participants who were interested. A reporter from MDR Sachsen radio showed up on Monday morning, drawn by our little information stand. He interviewed Wolfgang Hain, who – as always – was very happy to answer questions! 🙂

Our Neuland Werkwand® was also well received by many conference participants – and not just because of its award-winning design! Traditional conferences with rows of tables are noticeably declining in favor of collaborative and interactive event formats, where the Werkwand is ideally suited. Of course, we also brought along some accessories: our brand-new Neuland ChalkOne® for chalkboards, whiteboards, or glass surfaces, the practical saddlebag for materials, and a holder for flipchart pads, fresh from our development workshop.

Our multifunctional KIPPIT furniture was well placed in the foyer and was used extensively.

Our conclusion:
A successful congress for all involved, showcasing diverse possibilities for holding "green" meetings. Planning and designing undisturbed, flexible, and creative learning environments where participants feel comfortable also promotes sustainable meetings.
