Neuland newbees present: Sustainability

Sustainability affects us all. Since the early 1980s, environmental protection has been a fundamental part of Neuland's corporate policy. Want to know how we're doing something good for the environment and discover our fantastic sustainable products? Just scroll down and get inspired! Your Neuland trainee, Jana 🙂

What's behind it?

We asked ourselves: Are there specific topics or products that Neuland's young trainees are particularly passionate about? In our new series "Neuland newbees present," we share a trainee contribution each month, and our Jana is particularly interested in the topic of sustainability.

Sustainable products

We produce safe materials that are either recyclable or can be easily disposed of. Our entire paper range is recyclable and some items are even wood-free, sourced from sustainable forestry, such as our white flipchart pads . Our particularly environmentally friendly products are therefore FSC-certified and carry the Blue Angel ecolabel.

Refill Neuland markers
Easy peasy: Here's how to refill your markers.

Another great solution for the environment is water-based refill inks . With one refill bottle, you can refill the Neuland No.One® 22 times. This alone results in a saving of valuable resources of 95%. Since 2020, all our markers have been refillable. And to make the process as convenient and easy as possible, we offer our fantastic RefillBoxes . These practical and affordable boxes hold up to five Neuland markers and are made of kraft cardboard, not plastic.

The packaging

Neuland is continuously working on environmentally friendly packaging. We use cardboard boxes, paper filler, and brown paper bags for small items. Lamination is only used where it cannot currently be replaced to protect the product.

What happens behind the scenes?

Green electricity icon

Of course, we also pay attention to a good energy balance. Since 2020, we have sourced 100% green electricity and green gas and have completely converted our lighting in the production area to LED. Furthermore, we manufacture more than 95% of our products in Germany or within Europe. This reduces unnecessary transport routes and the associated CO₂ emissions.

Your contribution

You too can help and make a positive contribution! You don't have to give up your car or live completely plastic-free. Start small and get into the habit of refilling your markers instead of throwing them away. Besides replacement tips and caps, we also have a huge stock of spare parts for our walls and flipcharts. So if you ever lose a screw or a part gets damaged in transit, we'll gladly help you with the repair.
