Tapete mal ganz anders: Eine App zum schnellen Flächenfüllen.

Wallpaper with a twist: An app for quickly filling surfaces.

Apple's App Store and Android's Play Store are so full of drawing and design apps that it's almost impossible to keep track. Yet, the small, almost hidden programs from dedicated developers definitely deserve more attention. For example, we've just discovered a free program that makes creating mandalas and patterns possible in a whole new way.
It's called KaleidoPaint And it's basically pure mathematics: As usual, I, as the user, can adjust the color and thickness of my pen, choose a background color – and get started. But unlike usual, KaleidoPaint offers 17 different formulas according to which my line is repeated infinitely – mirrored, rotated, or simply offset – so that a complete pattern emerges after just a few strokes. For example, this:

Even simple patterns can be very decorative, as you can see…
But the more you dare and the more you try, the more fun it is.
For example, you can portray tedious office work as…

…which it often is: working in honeycombs.

Once you gain some distance, it almost becomes beautiful.
Environmental problems can also be illustrated in such a striking way if you get close enough.

A fresh interpretation of the good old eat-or-be-eaten theory?
A stylish wallpaper with single-celled organisms? No problem at all:

And the best part is: Every image can be transformed in no time and changed as desired: With just a few taps of the finger, the summer forest becomes a winter wonderland in the evening light.

We like this little experiment. The only downside is perhaps the rather pixelated resolution in the end. Who knows: maybe one of our readers is familiar with source code . Go for it!
We would be pleased.
