Zurück von der Berliner TYPO: „wanderlust’’ in jeder Hinsicht.

Back from TYPO in Berlin: “wanderlust” in every respect.

The motto of this year's TYPO conference in Berlin signals movement in every respect; it stands for new beginnings and change. And it also stands for community – because let's be honest: hiking alone is all well and good, but being on the trail together is better and more enjoyable.

In fact, around 1,600 people from all over the world set out to exchange ideas about typography and everything related to it from May 25th to 27th.

Us too. We packed everything we thought might interest visitors to the "pregnant oyster" (i.e., the House of World Cultures): markers, sketchbooks, hand-lettering learning pads, etc., etc., etc.

But it quickly became clear what TYPO visitors were most interested in: our markers. The ArtMarkers with their brush tip and our FineOnes – also with a brush tip – were especially popular.

We at Neuland were there! Not only was it a highlight to hold our meeting in Berlin's most beautiful convention center, but the opportunity to be part of one of the world's most important creative events was even more so. "Good decision," confirm Dominik Parson and Laila Silva-Tello from the Neuland team.

Perhaps this was also due to the fact that among the many workshops offered by TYPO were brush pen lettering (hence the love for the brush tip?), hand lettering, and sketchnoting. (For which we, of course, had also put together special offers: Anyone wanting to sketchnot could get everything they needed in a set – consisting of a mySketchbook , a Neuland FineOne® Sketch , a Neuland FineOne® Outliner , and four Neuland FineOne® pens of their choice – at a special price.)
It was certainly helpful that many visitors were already familiar with Neuland markers or had just been introduced to them in one of the workshops – as a sponsor, we had provided some of these short courses with the markers. This allowed each participant to test our markers after their workshop and find their favorite color.

Finally, we also had some very special guests at our booth. Our thanks go to Drury , who spontaneously gave mini calligraphy workshops with our markers and, at the end, even decorated TYPO visitors' bags with our BigOnes . Suddenly, everyone was carrying a little bit of something new with them. ☺

We would also like to thank Justo from the bikablo® academy , who joined us on the second day and encouraged visitors to try visualization with short 15-minute workshops: He showed them how to create beautiful flipcharts with just a few well-placed strokes using the bikablo® visualization technique. Thanks to him, the "wanderlust" drew many visitors to our booth.
And of course, the prize draw, which we like to hold at events like TYPO, was also a big draw. Visitors had the chance to win prizes every day, and in the end, there were even three grand prizes. After three days filled with many interested people and engaging conversations, we were able to head home – or rather, hike home – satisfied.
And we're already looking forward to the next TYPO.
