Jimi Holstebro: Visual facilitation during studies
Teilen
How did you become a visual facilitator? Many people have an almost romanticized idea of this journey: You're creative, and one day you happen to meet someone who's looking for exactly what you're looking for. And while you don't even really know what the job entails, you're already living your dream and earning money doing what you love most. That sounds so great, we should all do that, right?!

Your teachers: Jimi Holstebro, Frank Høedt and Mia Søiberg
How it all began
Busted, we exaggerated a bit. But all joking aside! The profession of visual facilitator is very important and incredibly fun… but it also presents some challenges. And while visual facilitators are quite good at networking, one of the biggest problems is probably the fact that it's not a regulated profession. And that's true for many professions in the arts and social work fields.
But there is hope! Jimi Holstebro and Frank Høedt have just taken the first step to overcome this hurdle. Together with Mia Søiberg from Go'Process, they are the first to teach Visual Facilitation at a university college in Denmark, and they will be teaching their first course in August 2021. Just imagine being able to say one day, "I studied Visual Facilitation," or "I have a Master's degree in Visual Facilitation"... How exciting is that?

About the course
The module consists of two main parts: prepared processes and improvised live processes. The lectures span a total of 10 days, plus a presentation and final exam. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive 10 ECTS credits. While Jimi and Frank handle the drawing component, Mia takes care of the facilitation aspect. But that's not all: The trio has also invited doctoral students and other visualization practitioners as guest professors for specific parts of the course.
Since the course is being held at UCL Denmark, it will be in Danish. But because demand is already incredibly high, who knows… the next one could be in English. 😉
We are incredibly excited to follow this important journey and are so happy for Jimi, Frank, and Mia. And if you'd like to learn more about your future university degree in Visual Facilitation, simply visit the website or send a message via Facebook or Instagram .
