How to manage projects instead of muddling through – and what you need for it.
Each of us has experienced or even suffered this: After a good start, a project stalls at some point, confusion arises, or worse: frustration. Suppliers fail to deliver, those in charge look for someone to blame, information gets lost… – no, things don't always have to go wrong, but there's always something amiss somewhere.
And at that point, we remember that it worked out well in other projects – projects that weren't all that different. And we ask ourselves what distinguishes successful project management from less successful project management.
Answers to this question were provided at the end of April at PM Welt in Munich, a specialist congress for project management, which was attended by 400 visitors from a wide variety of industries.
His motto was "Strong in the project" and a variety of expert presentations served this goal: with topics ranging from "Guerrilla project management" to "Extreme motivation" to the "Complexity trap", the speakers prepared their listeners for almost every conceivable problem in the course of the project.
And Neuland was also represented – because all knowledge and even the best theoretical preparation also requires appropriate working materials for efficient implementation.

This was evident in the individual presentations, for which we essentially provided the writing and drawing materials . It was also confirmed at our booth: Dominik Parson and René Köllner were extremely busy. Especially after Christian Botta from visual-braindump presented the advantages and possibilities of visualization in his talk, our small booth was almost overrun, as many guests wanted to acquire the practical tools to complement the theoretical knowledge.
And as we all know, we are ideally equipped – precisely so that you are too.
